She received a Divison I NCAA full-ride sports scholarship to the State University of New York in Binghamton for volleyball and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. She graduated magna cum laude with degrees in political science and English and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Jacki has anchored and reported in Denver, Colorado, Cincinnati, Ohio, Binghamton, New York and Springfield, Massachusetts.

She has covered a wide range of stories, recently reporting live for ABC News on Robert Durst's legal trouble in New Orleans. She was also interviewed by ESPN about the Saints ownership battle.
